Learn Valuable Soft Skills With Leadership Training

At New Quest Coaching & Consulting, we are leadership training specialists for leaders of teams and organizations from Kelowna to Calgary and in between. Through our training, leaders will be taught many of the soft skills they need in order to lead successfully.

What are Soft Skills?

Soft skills are those that aren’t often learned in formal education or technical training. They are developed through life experience, a fervent desire to be a better leader, and specific, tailored instruction geared to helping professionals expand these vital, but sometimes elusive, skills.

Here are several important soft skills we will leaders develop at New Quest:

Empathy

We all walk different paths in life and come from a diverse set of backgrounds. Learning to understand and empathize with others while meeting them on an equal level with kindness, understanding, and acceptance will ensure your subordinates feel valued and understood. This in turn fosters healthy professional relationships based on mutual understanding and respect.

Integrity

Integrity is defined as, “being whole and undivided” and having “strong moral principles.” Part of leading with integrity includes being honest, consistent, and being willing to do the right thing, ethically and morally, whatever the consequence. Being open, transparent, and consistent in your actions and efforts helps build trust and will inspire others around you to follow suit.

Ability to Delegate

Great leaders know they are only as strong as the team around them. Recognizing that you can’t do it all on your own and trusting those around you to help meet the team’s objectives is paramount to your business’s overall success. Knowing who is the right person to assign specific tasks, learning to let go and avoid micromanaging team members, and being able to evaluate and pair talent with appropriate tasks increases your company’s efficiency and bolsters success.

Organization

Confusion and chaos can result from disorganization. Having a solid structure and current, comprehensive procedures in place will help streamline operations and discourage misunderstandings and mix-ups between team members. Delegating specific organizational tasks to others with specific skills sets is encouraged and acceptable, but efficient leaders will be completely on board to implement the organizational structure and ensure it is maintained.

Ability to Motivate Others

Positivity breeds positivity just as negativity breeds negativity. Positive energy is infectious and having the ability to inspire and motivate those around you will undoubtedly lead to good things for your business. If you’re passionate about your business (and we hope you are), let that passion shine from within. Your team members will feel the enthusiasm you project and look forward to collaborating with you and sharing their own passion and energy. No one can be upbeat 100% of the time, but if you are actively fostering an environment focused on positivity and passion, there will always be someone around to bring the mood back up when necessary.
